The Girls Own Safari Program is based at Camp Fiji. Camp Fiji is located in Matei, Taveuni Island, Fiji within the South Pacific.
Taveuni is the third-largest island in Fiji, after Viti Levu and Vanua Levu, with a total land area of 434 square kilometres (168 square miles).
The island has a population of around 19,000, 75 percent of them are indigenous Fijians.
Taveuni has abundant flora and is known as the 'Garden Island of Fiji'. With the excellent diving opportunities on the exquisite Rainbow Reef, prolific bird life, bushwalks and waterfalls there it is no surprise that Taveuni is a popular tourist destination.
Volcanic in origin Taveuni's soils have supported the island and much of the rest of Fiji with an abundance of agriculture.
